As of December 1993, Parker Johnson commented that there wasn’t enough diversity on campus. He also noted that, in general, the campus remained relatively silent on the topic. Following this assertion, the number of incoming students of color and international studentsdropped dramatically in the fall of 1994. Johnson faulted the admissions office for not prioritizing high schools whose student bodies were made up of a majority of students of color.
