In March of 1985, Alpha Chi Rho hosted athree part sexism forum that not only focused on women’s experiences at the college but also covered topics such as women in the workplace. Later that same month, college president Charles Glassick created acommision to advise on women’s status. Even though these efforts were made, women still felt the need to speak up for themselves. In fact, the entirety of Women’s Week in 1986 was met with some critique, especially for attempting events like an all-female classboycott. It was clear that even if a woman’s voice was heard, it was immediately thrown into question. A month after the speakout, the Women’s Action Group sponsored a Women’s Newsletter, which allowed for women to express their voices in a widespread and impactful way.
